Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT)

This is a tax on the amount paid for the rental of a room in a hotel, motel, or bed and breakfast.  The legal incidence of the tax is the person paying for the room, but the hotel has the responsibility of filing forms and paying the tax, and is responsible for doing so even if the tax is not collected from the lodger.  The tax rate is 8%.
