Oil and Gas Severance Tax (SEV)

This is a tax on the removal of oil and/or gas from any lands located within the jurisdictional territory of the Navajo Nation, regardless of ownership of such lands.  The  first purchaser of the product is responsible for filing and paying the tax, although the owner remains secondarily liable.  The tax rate is 4%.
